NetBook is an easy-to-use URL manager, designed to "just be there". It relies on Internet Config for launching bookmarks, and is extendable and customizable.
You can drop these things on a NetBook window currently:
Finder email addresses
Finder web addresses
Finder FTP addresses
Fetch bookmark files
Hotline bookmark files
Eudora address lists
Internet Explorer bookmark files
Internet Explorer bookmark lists
Netscape Navigator/Communicator bookmark files
Netscape Navigator/Communicator bookmark lists
NCSA Telnet/BetterTelnet bookmark files
Anarchie bookmark files
Text clippings (will be interpreted if possible, otherwise marked as unknown content)
Bookmarks from other NetBook windows
Applications (doubleclicking will launch).
Note:
Since NetBook relies on Internet Config, you must manually add a helper application for Hotline, or HL bookmarks won't work. May do an AppleScript for this some time...
You can drag bookmarks or text directly from many applications, such as Netscape Navigator, onto NetBook windows.
Plug-ins:
NetBook's plug-in architecture is very simple at the moment - the only thing plug-ins can do is to add new protocol pictures. Open the Sample protocols in ResEdit to see how. PICT resources from 1200 to 1299 are recognised. Note that you can change the existing protocol icons by adding a new PICT with the same name.
